Situated in the lap of the scenic mountain town of Narkanda, Kumarsain the erstwhile capital of princely state of Kumharsain under the British Raj is about 80 Km. from the capital of Himachal Pradesh-Shimla. Kumarsain is famous for its religious and cultural heritage and lies one Km beside National Highway-05 from Bharara Village which is 20 Km from Narkanda towards Rampur Bushahr. Kumarsain is surrounded by scenic apple and cherry orchards for all sides. At the highest point of town, near the Kaali Mata Mandir at Digadhar’, is situated the temple of learning, the Government Degree College, Kumarsain
The college was established in 2014, vide Notification No. EDN-A-Ka (1)/2014 dt. 15-1-2014 of the Department of Higher Education, Govt. of Himachal Pradesh as a co-educational institution. The first academic session commenced in the year 2014 with admission to the B.A and B.Com first year of the three year degree course.
