Scholarships
Students are required to visit the NSP portal to apply for scholarship schemes by registering, filling in the necessary details, uploading documents, and tracking their application status. The National Scholarship Portal (NSP) is a digital platform launched by the Government of India to provide a single access point for various scholarships offered by central and state governments. It aims to streamline the processes of scholarship application, verification, and disbursement, ensuring transparency, efficiency, and direct benefit transfer (DBT) to students' accounts. Before applying, all students are advised to link their bank account and Aadhaar card to ensure smooth disbursement of the scholarship amount. The portal covers a wide range of schemes, including pre-matric, post-matric, and merit-based scholarships, catering to students from diverse economic and social backgrounds. The details of the some of the schemes is as under:
1. Central Sponsored Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for SC students
Conditions of Eligibility of Students
- The Scholarships are opened for Indian Nationals only.
- Only those candidates who belongs to Schedule Caste will be eligible.
- Scholarship will be paid to the students whose parent’s/guardian’s income from all sources does not exceed 250000/- (Two Lakh Fifty Thousand only) during the last financial year.
- Candidates who, who after passing one stage of education are studying in the same stage of education in a different subject e.g. intermediate science after intermediate Arts or B.Com. After B.A. or M.A. in one subject after M.A. in other subjects will not be eligible.
- Students who pursue their studies through correspondence/ Online courses are also eligible.
- A scholarship holder under this scheme will not hold any other scholarship/stipend.
- The student should have a valid account in a Schedule Bank linked with Aadhar and Mobile number.
2. Kalpana Chawla Chhatrvriti Yojana
Conditions of Eligibility of Students
- The Scholarship will be awarded each year to top 2000 meritorious girl students of all study groups i.e Science, Arts and Commerce stream based on passing ratio in each group as per the merit list supplied by the H.P. Board of School Education Dharamshala for 10+2 Courses.
- The aforesaid scholarship will be awarded to the girls’ students who take admission as a regular student in any recognized academic, professional or technical course from any Govt. aided or Recognized private institution for its full-term subject to satisfactory performance each year.
3. Central Sponsored Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for ST students
Conditions of Eligibility of Students
- The student should belong to Scheduled Tribe so specified in relation to the State/Union Territory to which he/she actually belongs (Domicile State).
- Student should have passed the Matriculation or Higher Secondary or any higher examination of a recognized University or Board of Secondary Education.
- The family income of student from all sources should not exceed Rs.2.50 lakh per annum.
- The student should have a valid account in a Schedule Bank linked with Aadhar and Mobile number.
- The student should not be getting any other scholarship.
- The scholarships will be given for study of recognized post-matriculation/ postsecondary courses, recognized by the concerned approving authority, pursued in recognised Institutions/Universities/Colleges.
4. Indra Gandhi Uthkrishta Chhatrvriti Yojana for Meritorious Students
Conditions of eligibility of Students
- For post plus two courses shall be awarded to 150 students purely on the basis of merit without any income ceiling. The scholarship will be awarded to 10 toppers from the merit list of 10+2 Arts, Commerce and Science supplied by the HP Board of School Education, Dharamshala, provided they join any academic/professional stream. The scholarship will also be awarded to 10 toppers from the merit list of B.A., B.Com. and B.Sc. provided they join any academic/ professional stream. The scholarship will be renewed every year to the same number of students till they complete the degree/course which they pursue.
5. Mukhya Mantri Vidyarti Kalyan Yojana
Conditions of eligibility of Students
- Only those candidates who belongs to IRDP/BPL will be eligible.
- Passed in the previous class.
- The student should not be getting any other scholarship.
6. Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Post-Matric Scholarship for OBC, EBC and DNT Students.
Conditions of eligibility of Students
- The scholarships will be open to Indian nationals belonging to OBCs, EBCs and DNTs, as notified by the Central Govt./State Govt./ UT Admin.
- These scholarships will be given for the study of all recognized post-matriculation or post-secondary courses pursued in recognized institutions.
- Candidates who, after passing one stage of education, are studying in the same stage of education in different subject e.g. B.Sc. after B.A or B.Com.after B.A. or M.A. in a subject after M.A in another subject will not be eligible.
- Students who, after having completed their educational career in one professional line, e.g., LLB after B.T/B. Ed will not be eligible.
- Students, who pursue their studies through correspondence/online courses, are also eligible. The term correspondence includes distant and continuous education for courses in Central/ State Universities only.
- Only two boys of the same parents/guardian will be entitled to receive scholarships. This restriction will, however, not apply to girls. Accordingly, scholarship availed by girls of same parents/guardian will not adversely affect admissibility of availing scholarship upto two boys of same parents/guardian.
- Students whose parents/guardians income from all sources does not exceed Rs. 2.50 lakh per annum will be entitled for the scholarship under the scheme.
- The student should not be getting any other scholarship.
7. Mukhya Mantri Protashan Yojana
Conditions of eligibility of Students
- For all those students of the state who are selected and take admission for degree course in any Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) or for a Post Graduate Diploma Course in any Indian Institute of Management (IIM).
