Background

The Supreme Court of India's Vishaka judgment of 1997 mandated that all employers and organizations establish an anti-sexual harassment committee. The judgment also established guidelines for preventing sexual harassment in the workplace.The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, also known as the Sexual Harassment Act, is a law that protects women from sexual harassment in the workplace in India. The law applies to both the public and private sectors.An anti-sexual harassment cell is a committee that addresses sexual harassment in a workplace or educational institution.It serves to create a safe and respectful environment for all members of the campus community by handling complaints, providing support, and conducting awareness programs.

At Government College Kumarsain, the Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell is established annually to maintain a safe and respectful environment on campus. Each year, the college forms this cell under the leadership of the Principal, who acts as the Chairman. Structure of Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell
