Women Grievances and Redressal Cell

Background
A Women's Grievance Redressal Cell (WGRC) is a cell that deals with complaints about women's grievances in an organization. Women Grievance Redressal Cell was established under the Act No 20 of 1990 of Govt of India. Women's grievance redressal cell is meant to safe guard and promotes well being of all women employees of the organization. The Cell is responsible for looking into any complaints filed by students & staff about Woman Grievances at the college through personal contact or digital medium. According to the Hon. Supreme Court of India definition of sexual harassment is any unwelcome sexually determined behavior, such as:
- Physical contact and advances
- Demand or request for sexual favors
- Sexually Colored remarks
Objectives:
- To resolve issues pertaining to girls'/women's sexual harassment.
- To equip the female students, faculty and staff members with knowledge of their legal rights.
- To safeguard the rights of female students, faculty and staff members.
- To provide a platform for listening to complaints and redressal of grievances.
- The Cell also tries to incorporate hygiene habits and ensure a healthy atmosphere in and around the college.
- It tries to equip them with the knowledge of their legal rights and redressal of their grievances.
Structure:

Functioning of the Club:
- Educating people: The WGRC educates people about their legal rights and how to file grievances.
- Organizing meetings: The WGRC organizes regular meetings to ensure speedy justice delivery.
- Conducting seminars: The WGRC conducts seminars and lectures on topics such as violence against women, sexual harassment, and health and hygiene.
- Providing assistance: The WGRC helps faculty and colleges take preventive steps against gender discrimination and sexual harassment.
- Forming guidelines: The WGRC may form or review guidelines and policies for grievance redressal.
- To forward the findings to the Management if necessary for further action.
