Literary Club

GDC Kumarsain

Background:

The literary club is a paradise for thinkers, readers, and writers. It is the place where students are free to think, read and write on the topics of their interest and choice. The club is also a forum where students share their insights on politics, philosophy, spirituality, philanthropy etc.

Objecvtives:

  • Inculcating a fondness for language among students and enhancing their critical thinking, reading, and writing skills.
  • Facilitating members to address their fears while at the same time enabling them to learn and express.
  • To inculcate among students a flair for the language and enhance their literary skills.
  • To promote reading and appreciation of literature among students.
  • To encourage students to become orators and display their intellectual, independent thinking skills and imbibe a sense of confidence.
  • To provide a platform for debating events.
  • Explore diverse literary genres, styles, and periods.
  • Integrate literary studies with other disciplines (e.g., history, culture, philosophy).

Functioning of the Club:

  • Conducting various events such as debates, essay writing, just a minute, and similar competitions and events.
  • Organizing activities that provide opportunities to develop the communication skills.
  • Conducting activities including Skit, Slogan writing, Story writing / Play Writing, Paraphrasing a poem, etc
  • Organize literary events, workshops, and seminars.
  • Provide opportunities for students to interact with authors, poets, and scholars.
