GDC Kumarsain

Background

The commerce society at Govt. Degree College Kumarsain was established to create a platform for students pursuing commerce to enhance their practical knowledge, develop professional skills, and explore career opportunities. This society serves as a bridge between academic learning and real-world commerce, offering a space for students to engage in activities that enhance their understanding of the business world and foster personal growth.

Objectives:

  1. Enhancing Practical Knowledge: Complement academic learning with workshops, seminars, and guest lectures from professionals in the field of commerce and economics.
  2. Skill Development: Equip students with industry-relevant skills such as accounting, finance, marketing, and entrepreneurship.
  3. Industry Exposure: Provide opportunities for students to interact with businesses and industries through internships, industrial visits, and collaborations.
  4. Leadership and Teamwork: Develop leadership qualities and teamwork through active participation in society activities and event management.
  5. Networking Opportunities: Create platforms for networking with alumni, professionals, and students from other institutions.

Functions:

  1. Organizing Events and Competitions: : Business plan competitions, quizzes, debates, and case studies to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  2. Hosting Seminars and Workshops: Regular sessions on contemporary commerce topics like GST, taxation, stock markets, and digital marketing.
  3. Study Tours and Industrial Visits: Industrial visits to give students firsthand exposure to commerce practices.
  4. Providing Internships and Placements: Collaborating with local businesses and startups to offer internships and placement support.
  5. Publishing a Commerce Newsletter or Journal: Featuring articles on commerce trends, student contributions, and society activities.
  6. Mentorship Programs:Senior students, faculty members, and alumni can mentor juniors, guiding them on academic and career matters.
  7. Collaboration with Other Institutions: Partner with other colleges for inter-college events and conferences.

  • Members: All Staff Members of Commerce Department and All Commerce Students.
