Parents Teachers Association
The Parents Teachers Association (PTA) at Govt. Degree College Kumarsain serves as a
collaborative platform where parents, teachers, and the college administration work together for the
academic, social, and emotional development of students. In Himachal Pradesh, where community values are
significant, the association helps bridge the gap between home and institution, promoting mutual
understanding and cooperation for the holistic growth of students.
Structure of the PTA:
1. Patron: Principal (oversees and guides the association).
2. President: A parent, elected by the PTA members.
3. Vice-President: A parent, elected by the PTA members.
4. Secretary: A staff member, nominated by the Patron (Principal).
5. Treasurer: A staff member, nominated by the Patron (Principal).
6. Joint Secretary: A parent, elected by the PTA members.
7. Executive Members: Selected parents and teachers who assist in planning and executing PTA
activities.
8. General Members:All parents and teachers.
This structure ensures that both parents and staff are involved in leadership roles, allowing for balanced
decision-making and representation.
Objectives:
- Strengthening Parent-Teacher Relationships:
To build strong, supportive relationships between
parents and teachers, ensuring effective communication about student progress and challenges.
- Ensuring Academic Excellence:
To support the academic goals of the college by encouraging
parents to actively engage in their children’s education and extracurricular activities.
- Addressing Student Needs:
To collaboratively address academic, social, and emotional concerns
faced by students, ensuring a supportive environment both at home and college.
- Promoting Community Involvement:
To encourage parents to participate in college activities,
promoting a sense of shared responsibility in shaping students' futures.
- Providing Feedback to the College Administration:
To act as a channel for parents to offer
feedback on educational programs, facilities, and overall functioning of the college.
- Supporting College Initiatives:
To assist the college, both financially and logistically, in
initiatives such as cultural programs, sports, and infrastructure development.
Functions:
- Organizing Regular Meetings:
The PTA organizes regular meetings to discuss academic progress,
provide feedback, and resolve concerns.
- Facilitating Parent-Teacher Communication:
The association serves as a medium for
communication regarding students' academic and personal development.
- Supporting Extracurricular Activities:
The PTA actively supports extracurricular programs
such as cultural events, sports, and community service.

The PTA helps with the college’s development, including
infrastructure improvements and student support.

Seminars and workshops are organized on career counseling,
